BAYWUD (pronounced bay-wood) is an L.A. based indie artist, musician, and songwriter. Born in Miami, Florida, BAYWUD was always drawn to the creative arts. Classically trained on the piano, he began acting and singing on the stage at a very young age. He went on to study film and television acting at the School for Film and Television in New York City, and later studied film at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles. Although he was trained as a classical musician and singer, BAYWUD learned and developed his own unique and personal style. Baywud’s first single Golden Cord was inspired by a love interest. The song is about the connection between the two. It’s a song about love , lust, desire and romance. It was produced by LA based electro pop producer Verskotzi and released in 2019 . Baywud is back with a new single on April 2nd 2020. Co-written and produced by Rune Westberg, ‘Hold On To Me’ was initially inspired by a friend of BAYWUD, who lost her mother in a car accident in 2019. It was written for anyone feeling lost or broken, and knowing it’s okay to reach out for help in times of struggle. It’s about supporting each other through the darkness, but holding on to the hope that everything will be fine in the end, if we can learn to keep our eyes focused on the light. A live acoustic video of the song was released on You Tube. (Below)
The new single , out 8/7/2020 , is titled (We Don’t Have To) Walk Alone was written about the current state of the world; a world divided by race, religion, and politics. The song is about uniting, putting our differences aside, and learning to love each other despite our many egos. It’s a wish that we can somehow come together, open our hearts and move towards a better future.
The song was written remotely during the pandemic with producer Rune Westberg (Jessi YJoy, Cary Brothers, Beth Hart , Colbie Caillat, Matt Simons) .
